Westfreight Systems' operations team has successfully proven our ability to manage large projects, such as Rig Moves and Project Cargo in excess of 75 loads.
Transportation planning and management at Westfreight Systems includes several procedures as standard practice, such as:
- Direct contact with Suppliers for coordination and instructions for pick-up of material
- Verification of weights, dimensions and additional requirements on site
- Application for all necessary permits and approvals
- Adherence to all regulatory and service agency requirements
- Interface with customs brokers for Trans-Border shipments
- Direct contact with consignee to provide delivery notification
- Daily tracking of unit location and updated transportation plans as necessary
- Verbal and Documented Proof of Delivery (POD)
For example, in April of 2012, Westfreight Systems successfully completed an 83-load project. Almost equally distributed between Full Load and Over-Dimensional/Heavy Haul loads, all were loaded out at Fraser Surrey Docks (British Columbia, Canada) in 11 working days. These included 11 direct discharge units transferred from Cargo Vessel to Truck on Day 1. Destined for Alberta, the entire project was completed in 18 days total.
