Protection of the environment, the health, safety and security of our employees, contractors and their employees is and will continue to be of the utmost importance to Westfreight.
Safety is at the forefront of our industry. Our dedicated personnel manage our extensive safety program and train all our employees – drivers, operations, sales and administrative personnel – in industry standards in safety and securement using our Safety Management System developed in house. Westfreight is constantly upgrading our Safety Programs to not only keep up with industry standards but ahead of them.
Westfreight Systems is a designated facilitator for alcohol and controlled substance testing. An extensive Drug & Alcohol Education and Training program is in place. Mandatory pre-employment tests are conducted and random testing is done regularly to ensure compliance and quality service. The training package includes requirements of the D.O.T. and educational material on the effects and consequences of drugs on the driver's health and safety in the work environment.
Through personal commitment, active participation, and given proper training, equipment and procedures, the maintenance of a safe, secure and environmentally protected workplace can be realized. Our commitment has earned Westfreight recognition by both the Canada Border Services Agency and the United States Customs and Border Protection Services as well as many leading industry organizations.
